今日は、
エピソードの語り方について
書いていきます。
突然ですがあなたは、
人と話していて会話に困った
経験はありませんか?
会って間もないと、
お互い知らないことばかりなので
何を話しても盛り上がります。
質問もどんどん出てきて、
大した努力をしなくても
会話が続く、続く。
しかし、
お互いがどんな人か把握しはじめ、
ある程度の身の回りのことを
話尽くしたときに、
人々は直面します。
『あれ、話すこと、、が、、
ない、、、?』
会話が一度途切れてから
長い沈黙のあとで
話し始めるというのは、
なかなか勇気のいることです。
ではそんな時に、何を話せばいいのか。
そう、経験談です。
いつ、どこで、だれが、何をしたのか。
そしてそれに対してあなたはどう思ったのか。
経験談というのは非常に
共感が生まれやすい話題です。
人間、共感した相手に対しては
心を開きやすいと言います。
この一連の経験談を
語れるようになるだけで
会話の幅がこれまでより
グッと広がること間違いなしです。

< How to contstruct the story:話の組み立て方>
- Setting the story:場面を設定する(いつ、どこで)
- Introducing characters:登場人物を出す(だれが)
- Sequencing:最初の状態から何が起きて、どう状況が変わったか
- Adding a personal reflection:それに対する自分の意見
- Concluding with a practical lesson:そこから得た学び
<1. Setting the storyでのフレーズパターン>
- This happned in the US about three months ago, when all of my family were going to eat outside.
(これは3年前にアメリカで、家族みんなで外食に行った時に起こった話なの。)
- This happened to my friend, Hiro last year.
(これは去年友達のヒロに起こった話だよ。)
- A couple of years ago, I had a once in a lifetime experience. My friend Takashi and I were at a street market...
(数年前に一生に一度の経験をしたんだ。友達のタカシと僕は露天市にいたんだけど、)
- When I was at the 2nd year of junior high school, there was this time that Michele and I were on the way to home from basketball practice.
(私が中学2年生とき、マイケルと僕がバスケの練習から家に帰っているときの話だ。)
<2. Introducing charactersでのフレーズパターン>
- There was this absolutely hot guy passing by in front of me.
(私の前を通り過ぎるめちゃくちゃタイプの男の人がいたの。)
- Yuki is one of the girls from our project team.
(ユキは私のプロジェクトチームの女の子なの。)
- I've known Kasumi since we were childhood.
(カスミとは幼馴染なの。)
- Ayano was the one who have wanted to come here.
(ここに来たがっていたアヤノって子がいたの。)
<3. Sequencingでのフレーズパターン>
- All of a sudden, she started walking so much faster and the gap between us became bigger and bigger.
(突然、彼女は歩くスピードを早めたから、私との間の距離はどんどん大きくなってったの。)
- Shortly after that, the stranger disappeared.
(それから少しあとで、その不審者は消えたの。)
- The police arrived to the place after a while, but no one around there couldn't tell how the robber looked like.
(少ししてから警察が到着したんだけど、そこにいた人の中に強盗犯の特徴を言える人はいなかったの。)
- Eventually, I had to call one of my female friends in front of my girl friend to clarify that she and I were just friends.
(結局、僕は彼女の前で女友達に電話をして、ただの友達であることを示さなきゃならなかったのさ。)
- A couple of minutes / a few days later, I had a call from person that I didn't know.
(数分後/数日後、知らない人から着信があった。)
- It turned out that both the boy and the girl have cheated on each other.
(その男の子と女の子はどちらも浮気していたことがわかったの。)
- So, anyway, we couldn't stand anymore and decided to head back to home.
(で、とりあえず、私たちは我慢の限界だったから、家に帰ることにしちゃったの。)
<4. Adding a personal reflectionでのフレーズパターン>
- I've never been such dissapointed.
(こんなにがっかりしたのは初めて。)
- I'll never forget the beautiful sunrise that we saw together after talking thtoughout the night.
(一晩語り明かしたあとに一緒に見た綺麗な日の出は、絶対に忘れられないな。)
- It was the funniest moment I've ever had.
(その時は今までで一番笑えたよ。)
- It's absolutely one of my strongest memories that encouraging me to study hard.
(それはいうまでもなく、僕に猛勉強する気にさせる強烈な思い出だね。)
<5. Concluding with a practical lessonでのフレーズパターン>
- It just goes to show that frendship between a boy and a girls never exist.
(結局、男女間の友情は存在しないってことだね。)
- That's the last time I'll ever pay for her.
(もう二度と彼女におごらないわ。)
